User accounts is something that is giving us a little bit of trouble at the moment so we pulled it out for now. As soon as we get our act together we will be sending all of you who signed up for a tagfetch account an email with a new password.

We are experiencing some difficulty with the login process we are looking into it and hope to have a resolution soon. We are also focused on bringing to you version 2.0 of the site as the live site is still in a prototype phase. Please check out the screenshots we've posted on flickr.com.

We would love to hear from you if any other site weirdness shows up.

A whole lotta fetching going on…

We've been in a bunch of blogs lately and we take everyone's feedback seriously so we've compiled a todo list for people who are following this blog.

There are a few common points about the feedback to note…

1. People want RSS feeds of fetches individual or whole (working it)
2. People want more feeds fetched… (working on it)
3. People want the site to be more web 2.0-ish… well we have a brand new site design, results UI, and AJAX all coming at you very very soon!!!

Site Update

So, we've made some updates to the site in the past couple of days. Most of it had to do with user account stuff. Did you know that you could save fetches if you made an account and logged in? Well you can (^^);;… We had a little bug that we took care of so saving searches should work like a charm now. We are also logging your "Latest TagFetches" so you can see a history of the fetches you've performed. We still haven't had the time to add some sort of filter to the public "Latest TagFetches" but I promise that we will try to get that up soon… I miss it too…

We've decided that it may be a good idea to hide the "Latest Fetches" from our sidebar, for a little while atleast, because some of the fetches being performed were… uhm… fetches that should remain private ^^;. In the future we will be filtering some of the fetch requests showing up in the latest or popular list just to keep it clean-ish for now. Miguel, our brilliant technologist has come up with a temporary, maybe permanent solution enabling you to track your own latest fetches if you have a registered account (You can save your fetches with a registered account!!!). Perhaps in the future we could find a way to share the latest fetches (cause it is fun to see what people are fetching…) in a group/social network setting, we certainly welcome any suggestions.

I know it's not much but it is one of those moments that I'm proud of… Working at bigger internet companies and getting press never seemed like a big deal but for TagFetch it is a small milestone.
